How to Install and Care for Your Dusty Motors Shroud
- Before applying VELCRO® to the chassis, cut the tape to the necessary length and width. For example, to place VELCRO® tape on an old Slash 4×4 nerf bars, you must cut it in both directions: length and width.
- Make sure that the surface of the chassis is extremely dry and clean before applying the VELCRO® tape. Dip a napkin in pure alcohol and clean the surface of the chassis. (Use vodka if you like, but for best results, do not drink the vodka during the process).
- Let the VELCRO® tape adhere to the chassis for 24 hours before you use the shroud.
- If it’s hot outside, leave the Dusty Motors’ shroud unzipped to promote airflow and help keep the electronics cool. Even when bashing with a unzipped shroud, it will still keep out most of the dust and debris.
- When it’s hot outside – or if you have a car gearing set up that’s capable of reaching the speed of light – be smart when you bash. Don’t let the temperature of the electronics get too hot. Take breaks between rides. Unzip the shroud and let the model cool to a normal temperature.
- When bashing in winter, don’t bring your model into a warm room without removing ice and snow from the shroud. Otherwise, the snow will melt and water may penetrate the shroud and get into your model electronics.
- Do not drive under water. It is a CAR, not a submarine, and the Dusty Motors shroud is only made for cars. Our shrouds are good, but they can’t be breathable and 100 percent waterproof at the same time. Physics just doesn’t work that way. The splashes of water are OK, so don’t be concerned if the shroud gets a bit damp.
- Remember to take care of the shroud. Wash it by hand with warm, clean water. Let it air dry, do not put it in a dryer.
- If you like the Dusty Motors shroud, recommend it to your friends. You’ll all have a great time bashing together.
- Go in together and purchase Dusty Motors shrouds with your friends. You’ll save on shipping costs.

How to choose a right universal adjustable shroud:
- Check a chassis of your model for the spots to glue a Velcro tape. For the best result velcro should be applied to a vertical sides of a chassis. Glued velcro should cover all length of chassis, from a front shock tower to a rear one, i.e. shroud side should cover all chassis side.
- Measure the length of one side of chassis. According to a measurement results choose one of six sizes of universal shrouds.
Size | Shroud length | *Chassis side length |
S | 21 cm / 8.3“ | 20-22 cm / 7.9“-8.7“ |
S+ | 24 cm / 9.5“ | 23-25 cm / 9.1“-9.9“ |
M | 27 cm / 10.6“ | 26-28 cm / 10.2“-11.0“ |
M+ | 30 cm / 11.8“ | 29-31 cm / 11.4“-12.2“ |
L | 33 cm / 13“ | 32-34 cm / 12.6“-13.4“ |
XL | 36 cm / 14.2“ | 35-37 cm / 13.8“-14.6“ |
XXL | 39 cm / 15.4“ | 38-40 cm / 15“-15.7“ |
XXXL | 42 cm / 16.5“ | 41-43 cm / 16.1“-16.9“ |
4XL | 46 cm / 18.1“ | 45-47 cm / 17.7“-18.5“ |
5XL | 50 cm / 19.7“ | 49-51 cm / 19.3“ – 20.1“ |

How to Apply Shock Absorber Covers
Properly applying shock absorber covers to your RC car can extend the life of the shocks by protecting them from dirt, debris, and wear. Follow these steps to install them effectively:
Maintenance Tips:
- Periodically check the covers for wear or damage and replace them as necessary.
- Clean the covers during routine maintenance to prevent dirt buildup.
- Ensure the car is turned off and the shocks are accessible. If needed, remove the shocks from the vehicle following your model’s manual.
- Clean the Shocks: Wipe the shocks clean using a cloth and mild cleaner or rubbing alcohol. Remove all dirt, oil, or grime to ensure the covers fit snugly and don’t trap debris.
- Cut covers that fit the size and style of your shock absorbers. They should snugly fit around the shocks without restricting movement.
- Slide the Covers On: Carefully stretch and slide the cover over the shock absorber, starting from the top. Ensure the cover fully encases the shock, leaving the suspension’s mounting points exposed.
- If you removed the shocks earlier, reattach them to your RC car as per the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Check for Movement: Test the suspension to ensure the covers do not hinder the shock’s compression and rebound.
How to Apply Nano Protection Coating
CAUTION! Temperature must be +5⁰C – +40⁰C when coating. Keep Container always well shut. Use in a well ventilated area. Keep out of reach of children.
Preparation of surface and usage of product:
The surface has to be clean, dry and oil, grease free. Spray the surface with moderate quantity of protective coating liquid and buff in the surface. Leave RC model to dry for 5 minutes and then polish with a provided microfiber cloth. Application temperature above +5⁰C. Leave model for 4 hours in order protective coating could bond with a surface completely.
One bottle of protective coating is enough to cover up to 10 square meters (or 100 sq. f.), that means it is possible to protect not only one RC model.
